120200 Striker
The British FV102 Striker was a highly mobile anti-tank guided missile vehicle developed during the Cold War as part of the CVR(T) family of light armored vehicles. Entering service in the 1970s with the British Army, the Striker was designed to provide long-range anti-armor firepower against the massive tank formations expected in a potential NATO-Warsaw Pact conflict in Europe. Armed with five ready-to-fire Swingfire anti-tank missiles mounted in a box launcher at the rear, the vehicle could engage enemy armor from concealed positions while exposing very little of itself to return fire. Its aluminum armor offered protection against small arms and shell fragments while maintaining excellent speed and cross-country mobility. Crewed by three men, the Striker became well known for its ability to fire missiles indirectly using remote guidance equipment, making it a dangerous ambush weapon during the height of the Cold War.
