The T-54 was the Soviet Union’s first post-World War II main battle tank, introduced in the late 1940s as a successor to the T-34. Highly reliable and easy to maintain, the T-54 became the backbone of Soviet armored forces and was widely exported, serving in dozens of countries for decades.
