101100 T-55AMV

The T-55AMV was an advanced Soviet modernization of the T-55 main battle tank, designed to significantly enhance battlefield survivability and firepower in the late Cold War era. Building on the T-55AM, the AMV featured reinforced explosive reactive armor (ERA) on the turret and hull, upgraded fire-control and targeting systems, and improved night-fighting capabilities. It retained the reliable 100 mm D-10T2S main gun while integrating modernized optics and communications equipment, allowing it to remain effective against contemporary threats. The T-55AMV extended the operational life of the venerable T-55 series, serving in both Soviet units and export armies worldwide.
