100900 BTR-60 PU-12

The BTR-60 PU-12 was a specialized Soviet command and control variant of the BTR-60 series, designed to coordinate artillery, air-defense, and mechanized units on the battlefield. Equipped with an array of radios, communications gear, and workstations, the PU-12 allowed commanders to maintain real-time contact with subordinate units while on the move. It retained the BTR-60’s amphibious and eight-wheeled mobility, enabling it to keep pace with frontline formations. Widely used within the Warsaw Pact, the PU-12 enhanced battlefield coordination and command efficiency, making it a key element of Soviet mechanized doctrine.
